The Lady
I notice there is abundance and beauty within this card too, flowers, apple blossom and apples, butterflies and bees. She is carrying a large shell with apples, corn and flowers flowing out of it. It feels like spring and autumn all wrapped up into one, the sun is shining perhaps a little too brightly on one side of her and the full moon is shown clearly on her other side. I feel like the sun is in her eyes and want to say "get out of my face you overpowering masculine!" Hmm perhaps I have issues with men in this card too - kind of unexpected, though I can see that from my mother too - no one would over power her - least of all a man!

The shells and flowers and corn are repeated at the foot of the card too - she really does seem surrounded by bountiful fruits and is harvesting her work as well as beginning the new work too.
I go into the card....
As I walk in I feel warmth and sunlight like a late summer day, the bees are buzzing and the butterflies are fluttering. I ask the bees for a message.
"We are collecting nectar for honey for our young ones to grow - we are dedicated to our work and work as a team - all of us have our jobs for the large extended family. We select the best and love what we do - we serve and we fertilize in the process, we represent fertility and the abundance of the universe - all things can grow and when we all do the thing we were placed here for we also find ourselves helping many others - almost incidentally, as we go flower to flower - purely to gain nectar we serve the flowers by bringing them pollen and helping them reproduce. It is the nature of things."
I thank them and ask the butterflies what they have for me.
"To change is to be beautiful, all is in a process of change always, we are here seen transformed in shape and colour unrecognizable from our first form yet as true now as then and we will die soon changing again in the eternal cycle to be reborn in yet another form. It is our message to you to remind you that change is beautiful and joyful - it need not bring pain - though often rest and separation from the outer world is needed for the transformation to occur. We support all forms of change and help it along in our energy. Know too you can fool those who would be your predators by your image and glamour, there is no harm in this - playing the game is sometimes the natural thing to do, as we do here with our false eyes - those who truly know us and wish us no harm see beyond the glamour - but those who would want to consume us are indeed fooled so much of the time - as we flit joyfully wherever we please, You have wings so fly, do not fear that others will not know you for those who do, do, and by being yourself, accepting all of you, you have the protection you need from negative influences.
"Thank you butterflies - you are indeed beautiful" I say "As are all creatures in their natural state in their natural timing." Replies the butterflies.
The shells say "We come from the sea we are the protection, the covers and shields in the emotional waters of all. Shields are important as long as you haven't outgrown them - know when to move on, new shields that are better fitting will be provided as you risk the change!"
I say "Thank you for your wisdom."
"Hello lady..... May I take that for you?" (referring to the shell she carries) I hear two voices one says "You may not who do you think you are that you could carry something I own" the other "Yes of course", softly spoken and gentle. I prefer the later and feel that the former is the 'mother projection' I get into, whereas the latter a more nurturing receptive lady figure. I choose to talk to the soft spoken lady. Though feel slightly nervous....
"Come with me" she says and we go and sit off to one side of the hil behind - to the moon side. What is it that you would like from me she asks gently?"
"Oh my God, to be loved and cared for, to be nurtured within myself rather than to just feel the negative voice that follows me into everything I do. - I want to be free of my inner tyranny. That's what I really want can you help me with this? "
"I can." she says - "Come lay your head on my lap and I will soften the voices that are no longer needed, though they are part of you and will have a job to do - I need to tell them their job as I do this to help them know themselves, what would you want of these tyrannical voices?"
I say "I would want them to speak out when safety is really an issue - when my intuitive voice speaks I would want them to serve that side of me and I would want to learn to trust that they worked for my benefit in this way rather than doubting their admonitions as they seem so prolific and restrictive."
"You have answered the question well my child, I feel I can help you with this - open your heart as you lie here and allow me to speak to your true inner self and all that comes from it." She says
She gently puts her hand into my heart with pink light and sooths the voices that feel like a rabble at first, and then they calm, as they talk together a deal is made. The voices will serve my intuition and accept that my trust needs to be built with them. They will allow situations where proof is seen that they have a new ruler and this will strengthen the trusting. As this occurs I feel a bead of fear in the core of my heart and I feel her hand on this core just holding, nurturing. I am lying in her lap again and she is saying to me "You are doing well. It has been hard, you have achieved much." over and over again with a loving voice and peaceful patient feeling. I like it in her arms. It feels safe and that I can be a child.
Then I thank her and feel drawn to the other side of the card - with the sun, I ask the nurturing lady if this is a wise course of action given the healing she has just given me. "Yes" she says "You can visit the other side - there is learning for you there too, no need to fear."
I give her a big hug and I know she is still with me as I walk over to the other half of the card and I can see her in a different form, standing upright and holding her shell authoritatively. "Hello" I say again. She says "hello".
"Can you tell me about yourself and any message you might have for me?"
"Yes I can." she says. "I am a boundary setter - I can be stern but it is in the course of love. I serve the higher power but there is an authority about me which you experienced as you first greeted me. I like to be known as able to make my own decisions, carry my own goods, create my own wealth - I am independent as I am part of the whole. I am fruitful and I give birth! I have power of the earth that few know well, I am a destroyer when the time is right for cutting down, I am the builder when the time is right to create again. I have great strength and solidity, I am a powerful woman and will not be driven down whatever the circumstances are. The power of all nature flows through me as I surrender to that power, my strength grows - I am receptive but to the 'right' forces, a force needs to prove itself to me for me to surrender to it - It must come from the highest place - the deepest part of nature, of creation."
I am feeling I like this woman actually now, it feel I have got past the fear of this power....
I am interrupted in my journey by my son crying upstairs in bed - he is ill with a cold, I go to him and as I walk up the stairs I feel a presence of power with me - I see the Lady is the Goddess, somehow this hadn't come to me before and it is now I understand! I feel her with me as I tend to my son and give him more medicine and I see how this card and the faces of the lady are helping me in my role of motherhood which I have struggled to take on these 3 years. "Thank you, thank you." I feel full of love power and support now. I see the lady of the sun in front of me smiling - I know she knows I understand. I smile back fully and no longer afraid of her. She hands me some fruit from her shell and says "These are the fruits that I have born in the journey I have taken, use them to remind yourself of me and my influence in your life. Call on me when you need help. You can came and see me when you need." I thank her and leave the card - apples will remind me of the lessons I have learnt here - I feel she may be helping me with my food also in this multi-layered symbolism.
As I come back out of the card I look at her and can still see a little of my unease about her, but also now a feeling that she looks 'too ordinary' for what I have just experienced and I get the message "Remember the Goddess is in us all - I am (within) you - even in your ordinariness!"
So ends my journey for now.
I feel I have been shown so many things of the qualities the Lady stands for as this card, the Goddess within us all, the mother, the strong woman the nurturer, the many faces of womanhood. Also things about abundance and fertility, and the balancing of the active and the passive sides of ourselves, how we choose when to show which side.
This journey was a very personal one for me, though the themes universal, try it for yourself if you have a tarot deck you wish to get to know further, we can get some very personal answers from individual cards - you can choose one or shuffle and allow the top card to be the one for your journey. What you gain in personal experience with a card you will find helps all your readings - the more you know your cards personally the more it can speak to you when it appears in a reading. You can directly ask the character or element you are drawn to for a message, and you will find it easier to hear their response. Enjoy!

The readings I offer on the phone, internet, in person or by post are detailed and last between 1/2 hour to an hour, also I record them onto CD or MP3 so you can listen to them time and time again – often people find that the things I have said take on new meanings as time passes and that the information that comes through really helps as situations unfold. Information is gained both from the tarot cards as well as psychically the two forms of guidance merging together to give insight to any situation you are concerned about, or you general future.
Readings can be done by distance onto a CD or MP3 and sent to you in the post, so there's no need to be living in my area, or need to find a time we can both be present. I offer readings Face to Face, On Skype video phone, and usual telephone, as well as distance readings without you needing to be present or available when I do the reading for your focus directly onto CD or MP3.
