4 The Lord
I am looking at the card and notice first the butterflies around the edge which I associate with transformation and change, there is also honeysuckle which I have a strong positive feel for personally. It feels delicate, loving and protective somehow. The lord himself is depicted in a green robe and his face is half hidden I could see his expression as stern and authoritative as well as gentle and unassuming.

I am going into the card.
I ask the honeysuckle for any messages, they say, "We are the gentle protective force of nature with our strong scent and our delicate flowers, we grow amongst others and need support to be seen in our full glory but we can find this support anywhere. The butterflies fertilise us and ensure our future. There is fertility as part of our symbol and the strength in being gentle too. "
I ask the butterflies for their comments. "We dance amongst the flowers having come to our full in our last transformation we represent maturity that has grown over times of change and inner searching. Our freedom of spirit comes from this work. Our service now is to the plants to ensure their future growth, we took our strength from them as caterpillars and now are returning the energy to help them be fertile and procreate."
Then I turn towards the hare..."Hi I am the hare - I am mad as the march hare - manic energy need to run around a lot, always watching over my shoulder, what happened, what is going to happen. Madness of the spring."
As I walk into the card I ask the Lord if I may approach, aware that there is a badger in front of him as his guard and protector. He nods to me that I may, so I walk over to him and ask him about himself.
"I am the Lord of nature - I and the king of this realm. I live off the land and in harmony with it. My staff shines a strong light to guide my way. The animals are my protectors and my guides. I have antlers like the deer for my own protection and to fight off any who would undermine my authority. The deer behind me is my dear friend who is the guiding intuitive voice within that loving gentleness that I also embody. I have my badger at the front of me that all will know I am not to be messed with and respect is needed for those who disrespect me will feel the force of his teeth. These animals serve me as they know I am in tune with the way of things and I have their respect."
"Do you have a message for me?" I ask. "Yes indeed - you have just learned that you have this authority within you and that despite outward appearances you can command strength and inner power in the face of conflict and difficult odds. Know that this power is yours you can command respect and those that do not give it are not worthy of your energy, allow them to go their way and you go yours. But if you are caged, fight and protect. The protection is the greatest of these for no animal fights where protection is possible. "
"You seem very calm and mild I expected you to have more push behind you."
" I am fathers - all of the father archetypes - so can be strong and can be gentle depending on the situation. You need to have none of my 'push' as I talk to you for I feel your respect and that gains you access to my soft side. If you were to 'push' me you would see the extent of my power."
I get a picture of him rising in side to almost double and his staff being held up and glowing even more brightly with a loud 'no'?, and then if the message was received he would be back to being gentle and humble. I also felt that if the message would not be received and the 'pushing' continued then the staff would send out the most massive energy and would sweep the feet from under the person challenging him, without him even batting an eyelid. I get a feel for Gandalf in the Lord of the Rings as he casts out the devil in the possessed king.
I ask the badger for his comments. " I will not let it go - I will fight on and on till the threat is gone and the truth unveiled. For no one attacks the Lord and is allowed to get away with it. I will only fight when needed but when needed I attack till the end. "
"And you deer?" "I am the gentle heart of man - both strong and deep in feeling, I sense danger and remove myself from the situation relying on my senses and intuition to carry me to safety. I am not weak yet I am delicate and soft. I fight my own battles with those of my kind, and I lead the initiated into the ways of spirit. "
I walk into the forest a bit and see whether there is more for me here I feel; very safe and protected like the trees and the animals are all looking after me and ensuring I have a safe 'playpen' to be in where I can completely be myself and have no worry of being disturbed by the outside. I notice I feel kind of odd in this position - like I am not used to trusting that the protection will be there in this way - but I also have a strong feeling that with a little time I will be able to trust this safe space.
And what if you are reversed?
"Then my energy is blocked, boundary setting is hard and there is little protection, someone is not using the protective skills they have available to them and are allowing themselves to be walked over. I may also be indicating that they are not respecting themselves enough to fight for themselves. I would advise that they start to say no and stand up for themselves.
I could also advise the reverse and that the person is using only anger as their protection and they are not in touch with the vulnerability within themselves and this is leading to difficult interactions with people. Advice here would be to get vulnerable, acknowledge that part of themselves and be creative about protective stances, allow help from others in this too. I ask to look beneath his veiled face and he removes his hood and I see a beautiful man who is very sexy and virile, I see the fertility and the lust side here, like he is beautiful man personified, yet he doesn't show it off and brag, but keeps it within until he has found the partner he wishes to see that side of himself.
I leave for now saying goodbye and thank you to all and I think I will return again at a future time.
As I considered the journey the following thoughts occurred to me...madness was associated with this card with the March Hare I felt it was a bit like 'testosterone headrush' type madness, too much energy, with possibly no good channel for it, so rushing round and round in circles. Also the picture of an animal that gets away from its predator by dancing madly and hypnotising the predator so they can suddenly break out of the madness and run away representing another style of protective mechanism.

The readings I offer on the phone, internet, in person or by post are detailed and last between 1/2 hour to an hour, also I record them onto CD or MP3 so you can listen to them time and time again – often people find that the things I have said take on new meanings as time passes and that the information that comes through really helps as situations unfold.
Information is gained both from the tarot cards as well as psychically the two forms of guidance merging together to give insight to any situation you are concerned about, or you general future.
Readings can be done by distance onto a CD or MP3 and sent to you in the post, so there's no need to be living in my area, or need to find a time we can both be present. I offer readings Face to Face, On Skype video phone, and usual telephone, as well as distance readings without you needing to be present or available when I do the reading for your focus directly onto CD or MP3. Personal relationship awareness and self development
By request, I am currently developing a course focusing on psychological self development and awareness of relationship patterns of behaviour we get into time and time again, to be run later on in the year. It will be heavily based on the theories of Transactional Analysis, which is a theory that explores the games we play with each other and the internal sub-personalities of Parent, Adult and Child, with a view to becoming more authentic in our lives. The course will be held online via a forum as my other courses are. It is not connected with tarot reading specifically, however it will be useful in dealing with clients, whether tarot, healing or other supportive professional roles - particularly where you may find challenges of communication.
