8 The Warrior
As I look at the card I am reminded of a crusading woman - stopping at nothing to fight her cause. She may be filled with anger but uses it to further progress in the world. I feel there could be a negative to this card in that too much anger could lead to self destructive tenancies if not well channelled. Like the anger may originate in other sources but is channelled into fighting for change if used positively.

I walk into the cards and speak to the flowers round the edge - They are borage or starflowers and I ask them what they represent "We are the essential ingredients to live, we hold the image of the stars. We are both dreams and putting it into reality. We give strength to the structure of things the bones and though small and delicate in many ways we are also strong and powerful in our building properties. We give grace to those who pass - good day young woman we give you our blessing to proceed. " " Thank you " I say and walk further into the card I feel I have to talk to her straight away it is like she has been waiting for me and is standing strong with sword in hand to cut through the crap of anything before her.
"Hello, you are the Warrior " I say "What do you represent? " I ask "I represent standing up for yourself and for your rights I am powerful and solid, no one will shake me once I have taken on a quest - I will see it to the finish. I am not frightened, though I can be frightening - it is part of the amour I wear to do battle for good - to wear the images of toughness and of power to not allow another to belittle me into their way of thinking. I am strong and sure of myself. I will not commit myself to battle till I know it is in my own truth to do so - for being in my truth is what I am about and ensuring that none will take that from me. I would represent a person such as this in a reading or would be the side of them that needs developing, for we all have these warrior qualities within and it is the acknowledgment and acceptance of this power and strength that helps us live our passions and be true to ourselves. I would support anyone fighting for what they believe in - what is their truth. Though I will cut through any who would try and convince me that their passion was something other than that which rang true to me. For when one stands in their own true power and spirit there is much support from the heavens above and this can be seen from afar in the energy that is given to complete the task. When the true path isn't chosen then the energy weakens.
I have at my side here a badger for the protective energy that he extends and for the determination to get his teeth into something and follow it to the end however much 'badgering' of people and organisations it takes. Stay with it and go for the throat, don't give up and know that the fight is worth it.
I use my sword here to cut away the rubbish, for many times I have to slice the information offered to me, clearing the way, taking the parts of truth and cleaving the rest. Even when there is only a grain of truth I shall take this, for I will not unjustly throw out the truth with the padding, for even the grain that is contained will help me in the battle to set the world to rights.
Sometimes the battle is within, to set the inner world to rights making pathways through the inner jungles of thoughts and impressions to see only what is really true and cut away that which has come to make the truth easier to digest or that which has come to hide the truth in times where truth was dangerous, I vow to uncover all those parts within myself and to be a clear seeing person who both knows and can see as well as being strong to fight when needed when what I see is not what is being shown to me. I catalyse change in areas inside and out. Call on my energy when you need this strength and I will help you find your truth."
"And if you are reversed?" I say wondering about my feeling of too much anger here - "Yes indeed" she says, reading my thoughts, "When reversed there is a pushing against the true path, the truth is being hidden and sometimes being hidden in the guise of something appearing to be very 'good' and 'right on' the veils and covers are thin, the motivations are from areas of inner discomfort and indeed can be expressed self destructively or in a destructive manner to others. I can represent violence and bullying, and a feeling of needing an angry front to be protected where there is no need and it is counterproductive - only pushing others away - those who you really want to be drawing close. "
I am drawn to the environment she stands in - plains of wild grasses and marshes perhaps with a mountain in the distance and I feel the feeling of total freedom - there is nothing sacred, everything can come under the knife for questioning of its truth and all things that hold true remain, only the modified and covered is released - in some ways total trust can be given here, though it may be a challenge to allow anything to be taken as no longer true for you if you hold certain traits or ways of being as being core to you when in truth they are not.
I ask her "What do you feel of this freedom?" She replies "It is my freedom and my faith in the truth that guides me - my freedom gives me the arena in which to work, without it I would not be upholding my own principles - if I say everything that is not right for me can change except 'this, that and the other' that I want to keep the same, I have neither freedom nor truth, for I am saying I am not willing to question the 'personal correctness' of these things in my life as my life progresses. To truly be a warrior your faith and security needs to be bounded in the higher planes in your soul and in the ultimate truth rather than the truths of physical reality which are always transitory and open to change by their very physical nature. I admonish you trust in the highest and let go of attachment to things and people in the physical - You can experience life with others and amongst others and make choices for yourself - but always hold your highest truth as you see it at your centre - it will hold you strong in all things. Great power will be given to you to endure and fight when your truth is held central. That is all I have to say."
"Is there anything you can show me personally for my life right now?" I ask
"My message is enough - you know how it relates to your situation and you understand what you are challenged to do - be free, know your truth and live it - all that is truly right for you will remain and that which is not will pass. Trust and be free. Fight for yourself when necessary - though when the inner fight is fought the outer sometimes clears itself. You have my support, take me with you when you feel the need for added strength. "

I leave the card and feel that she, though powerful, was much less scary than I anticipated, I like her and her approach in upright form, and see the lessons I have been through in my life mirrored in her energy.
Take a look at the Strength or Warrior card in your deck and see what comes to mind for you, journey into it and record your experiences in your journal, recording what you see and notice can really help you develop a connection with your cards as well as give you confidence in your intuition as you look back over your writings in the future.
For your own journeys you can just visualise white light all around you and then see the card image in front of you and step into the card, asking questions as you explore the card. Notice how you feel in the card, what the temperature is and what you can see - you don't have to remember the card precisely and you may see things in your journey not depicted on the physical card but all is relevant.

Readings can be done by distance onto a CD or MP3 and sent to you in the post, so there's no need to be living in my area, or need to find a time we can both be present. I offer readings Face to Face, On Skype video phone, and usual telephone, as well as distance readings without you needing to be present or available when I do the reading for your focus directly onto CD or MP3.
