15 The Tower
This months card iss
Journey is into the Tower card. Have a look
at the Tower in your deck and perhaps have a
go at an exploration yourself.
For
your own journeys you can just visualise
white light all around you and then see the
card image in front of you and step into the
card, asking questions as you explore the
card. Notice how you feel in the card, what
the temperature is and what you can see - you
don't have to remember the card precisely and
you may see things in your journey not
depicted on the physical card but all is
relevant.
As I look at the Tower I see there is Rowan around the edge and I feel this is linked with protection. I see the tower being struck by lightening and is burning because of it, the phrase 'a bolt of lightening out of the blue' comes to me. The tower looks strong though it is part of something that is ruined, as there are ruined walls at the bottom. The snake at the side represents transformation to me and there is a full moon in the background – perhaps something has come to the highest point it can and now must recede back down, as it is with the nature of cycles of life. I already feel there is a lot with this card.

I go into the card......
I see the blackberries around the edge and
ask them about themselves. They say that they
are determined and will take root wherever
possible and in the smallest amount of soil.
They use all they can to grow. Even if they
are cut down they will grow back up again
stronger than before. They provide fruit for
animals and human feed in exchange for the
delivery of their seeds to new pastures. I
feel they are saying that we can too be
strengthened by being cut down - even if our
life is cut down to the root the growth that
comes from the event can make us stronger and
more fruitful. We will have more to offer
others, and the more we give to others the
more we will be able to grow in new ways and
offer even more in a cycle. Thank you for
your wisdom you are a lot more positive in
your qualities than I imagined.
“We are the rowan - we protect all that is around us – no harm, in the true sense, will come to those who seek our protection. We too offer food for the spreading of our influence, for our growth comes out of another's nurturing. We will shield you from the things that would truly break you, so you can experience the destruction that will enhance you and help you grow to the fullest. Always know you have the strength and ability to go through this process - you will not be abandoned without hope.” “Thank you....” I say “I feel your strength and it does indeed feel powerful – I am happy with you at my side in these times. My shelter and refuge holding me whilst the world around falls.”
I walk into the card further and the atmosphere changes – I can feel the electricity in the air and the chaos that could come from it – it is like nothing is left untouched and I almost feel there is an energy of a hurricane or tornado in here, ripping through the physical world – there is an exhilaration as well as fear of what will go what will remain. The tower looks so strong in front of me it is like nothing could touch it and yet I know it too is at the mercy of the forces of nature. I say hello to the tower and ask it what is happening.
“I have been hit out of the blue by lightening” it says, “I am not strong enough to withstand the force, I am crumbling like the walls around me – going to ruins, the fire burns within me and is now being set free and is destroying all that I have stood for. – I can only allow the process to happen and I am powerless to prevent the collapse. I do not want to fight though for I know I will be restored perhaps in a different way but restored all the same. My footing in strong and though this feels like a devastation it is actually only a readjustment, much of me will survive.”
I feel somewhat nervous that the stones will hit me when they fall but remember the Rowan and the protection afforded me as I entered the card and I know that I will be fine. I walk around and realise I am in the bottom of the valley and it is dusk, it is a beautiful area and the mountain sides afford some shelter from elements – usually though this lightening has cut through all this it still feels like the place has a safe side to it and that there is a force that has chosen to hit here for a reason, it is a synchronicity and 'meant to be' as it is such a rare thing. As the lightening disappears and the storm moves on. The tower has fallen though continues to have flames and some smoke, I go over to the flames and talk to them
“What are you symbolising?” I ask “ We are the creative fire within all that burst forth when our calls have not been heard, to cause chaos and destruction of all the things that were holding the journey forward back. We clear blocks, but in a dramatic way so there is no going back to what was before, though you can rebuild something similar it, will never be the same again and thus will not hold you back from your true path. Deep inside you know this and it is the resistance to this knowing that makes this often a painful process – let go and allow the fall of what was and the pain is reduced and what is to come arrives more quickly giving you the satisfaction you have been seeking. I can be the anger that causes the destruction or I can be the response to seeing what is to come and yet resisting it through fear of what it will mean. The higher forces take over here and show the natural way of things – to build up and be taken down in cycles of regeneration. The moon over there is the more gentle side of this card – it doesn't resist its diminishing after its fullness and it knows fullness will come again and that all is meant to be as it is – the more you are like the moon the less devastating this card will be. ”

I get a picture of the phoenix 'Fawkes' in Harry Potter, how he 'needs' to suddenly turn to ashes as he has been 'looking terrible for days', then he is reborn and renewed. Also of his healing tears and that this rebirth enable him to have more abilities to heal others, this linking with the berries on the outside of the card, that I spoke to earlier. I feel there is so much symbolism in this card....
“What if you are reversed ?” I ask the tower pieces and fire. “If we are reversed the event that precipitates this is not a sudden one, out of the blue, but has been slowly chipping away for some time and still is. The cleansing power of it is not reduced ultimately but the whole process is very slow and feels quite stuck at times, the advice would be to get in touch with the fire within - creativity and anger, passion and joy allow all these sides of yourself out to have expression and the card will right itself. The phase of tearing down brought swiftly and cleanly so you can deal with it and move on. Often though there is a knowing of this, and great fear about facing the destruction ahead.”
I see there are two faces together in the moon and I am reminded of the idea of being in a relationship that is over and that both parties know this deep down but neither want to face the reality, many years may pass in general unhappiness before the ending occurs, lessons learnt and moving on to a new place of freedom only eventually. If the issues are tackled head on then the process can feel more painful but also is considerably shorter. Neither is better than the other though there is no judgment, merely different ways of approaching the same thing. There is no time in spiritual reality and not hurry to the finish line, merely a journey to the true self where all resides in peace. This card is just part of that journey, reversed or upright.
“Thank you tower, I have gained a lot from this journey with you today.” I leave the card. I feel that a lot has been explained to me and that I have come away wiser than I went in.

Information is gained both from the tarot cards as well as psychically the two forms of guidance merging together to give insight to any situation you are concerned about, or you general future.
Readings can be done by distance onto a CD or MP3 and sent to you in the post, so there's no need to be living in my area, or need to find a time we can both be present. I offer readings Face to Face, On Skype video phone, and usual telephone, as well as distance readings without you needing to be present or available when I do the reading for your focus directly onto CD or MP3. Personal relationship awareness and self development
By request, I am currently developing a course focusing on psychological self development and awareness of relationship patterns of behaviour we get into time and time again, to be run later on in the year. It will be heavily based on the theories of Transactional Analysis, which is a theory that explores the games we play with each other and the internal sub-personalities of Parent, Adult and Child, with a view to becoming more authentic in our lives. The course will be held online via a forum as my other courses are. It is not connected with tarot reading specifically, however it will be useful in dealing with clients, whether tarot, healing or other supportive professional roles - particularly where you may find challenges of communication.
