7 Wands – Rivalry
This month I am continuing journeying into the minor arcana cards of the Sacred Circle Deck (available from my book store ), this month it is the Seven of Wands – and we start to look at the sevens. Sevens are about the breakdown of the perfection of the 6's that came before to allow for further development. This brings unrest, but also the opportunity for successful development and change.

I look at the card and can see structure and clarity and also an organic more free flowing image. There is a sense of masculinity and action of course as well as active fertility.
I walk into the card....
The sun is shining and there is a fresh breeze, I see the wands before me and ask them about their meaning
"We are the structures that hold things in their place we like order and everything in its place as its always been, we are balanced and perfect and do not what to be disturbed. We will fight all chaos and disruptions – we are the ways things are done – we are better than what has gone before. We shine and are representing previous successes, even sometimes to the detriment of someone or something else. "
"Thank you – May I pass I want to speak to the man " I say somewhat taken aback at their message.
"Yes you may – but he is old – he won't have anything of value to say. "
I walk past the swords somewhat surprised at their negative attitude not having met such open negativity in these cards before really.
I walk up to the man, he seems enormous.
"Hello" I say "What do you represent here?"
"I am the timeless truth of all things, I am creativity and action I am passion for what you know to be true. I will give you the ability to put into action your ideas so they bring fruit into the world. I am the old ways yet I also am of the new, I don't need rules to create for creation is organic and natural I don't seek to limit but to allow growth. "
"So how do you feel about the swords they didn't seem all that impressed with you?" I ask
"They are like small children – I have compassion for them. They need to feel important and have made structure so they seem strong however I have the ultimate say on how things turn out – they don't scare me and if I need to emphatically put my point across when its important I will do – it rarely is though as we can live in harmony. In many ways the adversaries around when I come up in a reading are those who can be overcome, having compassion for them can help you do this. "
"However, my message to you is to fight for what you believe, even if you are the only one, your ideas and creativity are unique and may be the basis for the future. Solving peoples needs in ways not understood when you start out. I am the masculine creative force, that which takes action to make things happen. The people you fight may be clinging to outdated ways of being. In the same way that people cling to the use of petrol and oil when its an outdated way of being with the Earth, and that by returning to the old ways you can find strength and new ways to survive and meet your needs. I say, in general, look back to how things became over time and return to a decision point and make a new decision. Do not fear the status quo, the most common voice, but pioneer your way forward to release. "
"I am about creating the world you would like to see, about change and about putting action behind ideas. Particularly in a business reading I would indicate it is time to forge ahead and the fight is worthwhile to you and to many others who will be affected by what you do now. "
I see he is surrounded by a pentagram and ask about it.
"It is a symbol of my protection – I am shielded by it, as you are shielded more than you realise. I protect myself with my wand too and can smash down anything that is not of the highest order, but I use my wand sparingly, ideas and progress come in many forms and I challenge you to give up prejudice and see an idea for its potential, not for the stereotypical images it brings to mind. "
"Thank you I understand – It sounds to me that you are about fairness as well as about growth and development. And that you have great courage in the face of opposition."
"Yes that is correct. I am open and I am as I am and I ask you to be the same – Have the courage to be yourself – stand naked as I do and allow your vulnerability to be your strength. You have the skills within you to defend yourself if you really need to."
Thank you these are important lessons.. I walk up to the top of the hill and look over the valley below which extends out for many many miles, I have a sense of perspective and as I turn around I can see the man shares the view along one side and see he has perspective on situations and is looking at the bigger picture. I stay here a while and contemplate the view.
I hear "We are the view you can take of life that will help you know what battles are worth fighting for, as you look at the overview you can see how people and places fit together in the overall scheme of things with the natural world too. As you take this viewpoint you can see whether your plan or conflict is indeed worthwhile or whether it is something that can just be left and you can focus on something else of value."
"Thank you" I say. I stand up and find the exit of the card beside me – as I walk through the door – I hear " Walk tall and have courage, your ideas are worth putting into action" I leave and feel grateful for this final message for me.

The readings I offer on the phone, internet, in person or by post are detailed and last between 1/2 hour to an hour, also I record them onto CD or MP3 so you can listen to them time and time again – often people find that the things I have said take on new meanings as time passes and that the information that comes through really helps as situations unfold.
Information is gained both from the tarot cards as well as psychically the two forms of guidance merging together to give insight to any situation you are concerned about, or you general future.
Readings can be done by distance onto a CD or MP3 and sent to you in the post, so there's no need to be living in my area, or need to find a time we can both be present. I offer readings Face to Face, On Skype video phone, and usual telephone, as well as distance readings without you needing to be present or available when I do the reading for your focus directly onto CD or MP3. Spiritual Development Sessions
I now offer ongoing development sessions where we use guided meditations, readings and counselling techniques of various kinds to help you develop yourself from both a spiritual and psychological point of view. The sessions are very flexible and we can cover what you need in order to gain the most out of your life. Living your life closer and closer to your souls ideal. This is not psychotherapy though - but a regular support with teaching of skills, to help you move through lifes challenges and develop spiritually and psychologically. Personal relationship awareness and self development
By request, I am currently developing a course focusing on psychological self development and awareness of relationship patterns of behaviour we get into time and time again, to be run later on in the year. It will be heavily based on the theories of Transactional Analysis, which is a theory that explores the games we play with each other and the internal sub-personalities of Parent, Adult and Child, with a view to becoming more authentic in our lives. The course will be held online via a forum as my other courses are. It is not connected with tarot reading specifically, however it will be useful in dealing with clients, whether tarot, healing or other supportive professional roles - particularly where you may find challenges of communication. We now offer a beginners module over 3 weeks to help complete beginners to the tarot understand the very basics – enough to be able to take the initial Thoth course, and learn to use your intuition with the tarot from the very start. Initial Thoth Course We are currently taking bookings for the Initial Thoth course starting on January 2012. It covers the psychological and intuitional approaches to reading with the Thoth. There is a good deal of personal work and students often feel they have transfermed personally a lot through the course's duration, in addition to feeling confident with the Thoth and their increasing intuitive skills.
