Knight of Wands
I look at the card and see the red haired Knight holding his flaming torch high – as if about to lead some people into battle or at least lead them onwards. I notice it is late summer with the heather out in bloom and everything lusciously green.

I go into the card....
I walk into the card and feel the wind blowing in my hair and the wildness and smells of the rich earth and lush greenery. It feels a wonderful powerful raw place to be. I can see the rolling hills and the valleys all around and foot paths winding this way and that, some look old and well used others mere scratches in the landscape going to some long forgotten place.
I see the knight standing in front of me looking me directly in the eyes, “Are you up for the challenge?” he says with enthusiastic joy “ Er, Yes” I say not totally sure what I have let myself in for but trusting that it will be OK. “Follow me” he says and runs off at a gentle pace in front of me, I run after him enjoying the pace and the excitement, we contour round a hillside and then more steeply up , slowing to a fast walk, When we get to the top he shows me the lands all around, I see a beautiful sky as the sun begins to set in the distance and the hills and mountains all around. He throws his arms to the sky and yells in joy and gratefulness. I see and feel the power of gratitude and of being free. He is unrestrained in his enthusiasm and has total confidence in himself – though I am wondering what the big adventure is, whilst also hearing within me the voice saying “Every part of life is an adventure – there is only the feeling of enthusiasm and confidence to allow with in you to see the adventure in every step however small. Adventure is allowing yourself to be led when you do not know where you are going, and allowing yourself to be confident that you will be able to handle whatever comes as naturally as getting out of bed every morning, sometimes things may seem hard sometimes easy but always trusting what is shown to you will be handleable. ” “Wow I see” I say, and realise that it is the knights energy talking to me inwardly whilst he is partaking of the wonders of the world here high up on the hill.
I see the views and the expanded perception that comes from this place and I am filled with enthusiasm and joy also. My body glad of the rest after the journey here and also the feeling of worthwhileness of the effort it took to get here. I feel confident and exuberant – like nothing could touch me.
“Follow me” he says again, I do and we run down the hillside – free and children laughing and playing. and then up the other side to the next peak – I feel like I am within a huge play ground of adventure and know not where I will be next but loving the journey, my fears at the start give way to knowing that wherever I go I will be ok.
As I run alongside the knight I ask him what he feels he represents in a reading, “Well as you are experiencing, I am the person who is enthusiastic, confident and believes in themselves, that they can handle whatever life throws at them. I am a leader of sorts, though whether people follow me or not is not really all that important to me I just do what I do and encourage others to come and experience the same – if they choose not to then that is fine too – I have no attachment to the outcome for others. For someone to be with me they need to allow themselves to follow at times until they catch the energy for themselves then they are free to make their own pathways of joy and we make patterns down the hillsides running as we are drawn by our inner spirit.
I represent this part of people too – sometimes hidden, I ask people to find me in them – sometimes outwardly expressed I am saying keep with your confidence don't let anyone else hold you back follow your passion even through the hard work for you have the confidence and skill to deal with all that comes your way. ”
“Thank you” I say “and what if you are reversed...” “Well then I am showing someone who is holding back their life energy – feeling depressed even due to thinking their exuberance is in some way bad or damaging. I can also represent someone who is so forthright that they are over doing this in the situation I am arising for, in the main I represent a nudge to someone to take action and risk something, allow themselves to enjoy the struggle, and trust to their instincts – reversed the instincts are being ignored or shut away and they need to open the lid and let them out. ”
“Thank you again. I love your energy. Do you represent physical activity as we are running here.” “Yes I can do, but in its raw and unbridled state, not a sports game – more the challenge aspect of physical endurance and mental stamina. Mountain running, running in nature, walking up Everest, achievement for the self rather than competition with others or something with rules in the sense of a game. It is the pushing the self to see what limits can be overcome in a wild and organic way. ”
“Thank you”
I turn to the hills and ask them for their part in this card “We are the foundations and the structure within which freedom can be had, without us there is no adventure. So with your life you have a base structure and within that you are free – you choose your environment for yourself, but this structure is not limiting of creative expression, but does bring with it the easy parts and the difficult parts, as with a painting, the structure may be the size of the paper or canvas, and the media you work in even as much as choosing a limited palate of colours – from within your chosen structure you are free to explore and have adventures. By knowing the environment your adventures and boldness increases. So our message to the reading is to know what the environment is that you are working in and allow it to guide your efforts. ”
“Thank you” I say
Then I turn to the heather in bloom, “You make the landscape so beautiful yet you are so small in your flowers – do you have a message for me?” “Yes that is it – small steps make all the difference, and even as one person is small in the world of people all together we have huge effects and can bring beauty and abundance everywhere. We are hardy plants and do not die during harsh weather, we do not flower at this time either but we can weather the storms we symbolise endurance here and also the ability to flourish in harsh environments, Many see heather as lucky in this context for we give the strength to get through any difficulty even if we are burnt to the ground we rise from the ashes, allow yourself to see your own endurance in your life and make use of it, fear not change and difficult tasks for you have the strength and beauty of heather and the luck that will make it all turn out well for you. We survive all – talk to our friends here the ferns about longevity for they are the masters of survival. ” “OK I will thank you”
I see the ferns there, in the front of the card, and ask them – “Tell me about longevity as heather feels you have a message for me. ” “We were here in the times of the dinosaurs so we are indeed very old and have seen many harsh environments – yet we survive and we also don't take over. We are telling you that you can harness our survival instinct in your life – you need only know you have been here as a soul for enormous amounts of time and then you know your soul lives eternal – as you come to trust there is nothing that can destroy your soul you know that you can be free to do whatever you are drawn towards – your courage increases and so does your confidence. Know that eternity does exist for you and that you can use this awareness to fuel your ability to take risks of passion and joy. You will not end only transform and change. ”
“Wow thank you ferns” – I like your message and also your beauty.
I start to think about leaving the card and the knight shouts to me – “Remember follow your fire and passion!” – as he holds up his torch I feel it is a fitting reminder to leave this exciting card on. I feel enthused and passionate about this journey and about my own life – it seems this energy is indeed catching as forest fires rage – so can the fire in our hearts!
“Thank you all!” I shout and wave as I leave the card, “I will be back!”

Often people find it easier to maintain the focus into the card when using the light visualisation as directed in these journeys. The readings I give from my website are detailed and last between 1/2 hour to an hour, also I record them onto CD or tape so you can listen to them time and time again – often people find that the things I have said take on new meanings as time passes and that the information that comes through really helps as situations unfold. Information is gained both from the tarot cards as well as psychically the two forms of guidance merging together to give insight to any situation you are concerned about, or you general future.
Readings can be done by distance onto a CD or tape and sent to you in the post, so there's no need to be living in my area, or need to find a time we can both be present.
